Colwell Cedars Retreat
30048 North Road
Hotchkiss, CO, 81419
We are open year-round, and centrally located in Delta County, Colorado.
We have art classes and an art gallery-studio; short-term and long-term lodging options; an intimate meeting facility for small groups; four miles of trails throughout our forty acres of juniper forest, streams, spring-fed hillsides, and sagebrush flats.
Colwell Cedars has no close neighbors, yet is within a few miles of towns and services. It is within an hour’s drive of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Grand Mesa, the West Elk Wilderness, two BLM National Conservation Areas, vineyards and wineries, organic farms, great fishing and hunting, skiing, river floating and bicycling. We have extensive personal knowledge about where the fun adventures are in western Colorado.
Our Viola-Rose Guesthouse sleeps up to four. Simple yet comfortable—the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. The views out the windows are of the West Elk Mountains and beyond. The night skies are crystal clear and sunrises and sunsets make you pause almost every day.
We merge awareness, creativity and nature. You will relax with nature, sleep in bliss, meditate in peace, and create with joy. Your personalized nature walks and art experiences will refresh you and help you access your natural creativity. Katherine’s art studio-gallery will leave you speechless and inspired. Joseph’s published fiction and non-fiction books have been described as descriptive, spiritual, and philosophical.
You can walk a trail outside Viola-Rose Guesthouse and become one with the forest and the streams, deer, owls, eagles, and chipmunks. You can get good cell phone reception as well as high-speed internet service, but you will want to spend time creating art or be outside enjoying the fresh Colorado mountain air.
