Houseboat Art Studio

Lisa Fairbank

I grew up painting alongside my grandmother, she was a well known Texas landscape artist and a pioneer in Plein Air painting. After she passed, I didn’t paint again seriously until my retirement in 2022. Residing in the North Fork Valley of Colorado, I spend most of my time hiking and painting in the Four Corners area, striving to somehow capture the beauty and grandeur of the area with my brush. I work mainly in oils and find myself attracted to painting mountain vistas, dramatic skis and red rocks. I am currently being mentored by several amazing artists and look forward to teaching and mentoring my own students.

Serving as the coordinator of the PAAC North Fork Plein Air group (everyone welcome on our weekly paint outs, join our mailing list), I cherish my time spent painting outside with like minded artists. I like use my outdoor studies to inform my studio paintings.
